What to Include in a Leather Goods RFQ
A complete checklist for a leather-goods request for quotation: product, leather, measurements, hardware, branding, packaging, quantities, target price and delivery.
A good RFQ gets you accurate, comparable quotes and fewer surprises later. The more precisely you describe the product, the more reliably every workshop quotes the same thing. Here is what to include.
Product
Product type and style name, a tech pack or flat sketch if you have one, a reference product or images, and the fit or size range.
Leather
Type (full-grain, lambskin, goatskin, suede), thickness in mm, tannage and finish, and colour references (Pantone or a physical swatch).
Construction and hardware
Seams, edges (painted or burnished), linings, and hardware — buckles, zips, rivets, magnets — including whether they should be branded.
Branding
Embossing or debossing, foil, metal plates, woven or leather labels, and any stitching or edge-paint colours.
Packaging
Polybag, box or dust bag, hang tags, and carton requirements for your warehouse.
Commercials
Quantity per style, per colour and ideally per size — MOQ depends on these splits, and low MOQ is welcome — plus target price, target delivery window and destination.
